Seth, I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am about half way through your podcast style video. Your story has been so humbling and incredible to listen to. I don’t know if you know this, but I am a teacher at Allen East. Before teaching here, I taught at an inner city school. Your story reminds me of SO many students that I have had. I’m just here to say that I hope there were teachers that helped you along the way. Up to this point in your video, I haven’t heard you mention any and maybe I haven’t made it that far but it makes me sad for you as a little kid. I have always been an advocate for all of my students, I have made reports that have made me want to literally throw up and I have sat and cried with students. After watching this, it has made me want to advocate even more. I want you to know that your story will and probably already has been incredibly life changing to so many kids. That dark place that so many have to grow up in, I’ve had many share with me that it’s almost suffocating…but because you are sharing your story, it will save children who are in homes like yours growing up. Anyways, I feel like I’m rambling but I truly just want you to know that your story is incredible. I hope that you, one day, get the chance to come back to the schools that you attended and speak. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
Hey Seth, I just wanted to reach out to you. I finally had a chance to watch/listen to your full video with a mix of tears and happiness. I am very happy for you that you are able to find the strength to re live these terrible things enough to be a voice for those that feel silenced. I am also happy to see how far you have come since we met in high school and the person you have became and continue to become. I’ve thought about you a lot these past few years as my significant other is a teacher and I hear him talk about some kids who act out or are just hard headed. & although I didn’t know about these things that happened to you, I knew you didn’t have an easy life and I try to tell my hunny to remember that when dealing with these kids, that’s there is an underlying issue to their behavior and to just give them grace. They probably don’t have easy lives outside of school and just be that person that makes them feel cared about. Congrats on everything you have accomplished this far and I can’t wait to see where your journey continues to go!
Just finished your podcast man! Great conversation had. Once again admire your ability to openly talk about these issues in hopes of saving someone else! You will make a difference in someone’s life! Keep knocking down these barriers man!
Hey Seth, I saw your video on fb and I just wanted to reach out and express how truly sorry I am that you had to endure all of those hardships throughout your childhood. No child or no person should ever have to go through any of that. You are so strong and so brave to open up and talk about it and share your story with the world. I’m sure by you doing this it will help so many others to do the same. You deserve all the joy and happiness this life has to offer and I hope you get all the healing you need.
